Broome is located in the north of Western Australia; it’s one of the largest cities in the Top End and is right on the coast. The Staircase to the Moon is quite a magical optical illusion that happens during certain times of the year when the full moon aligns just right over the ocean and the reflection makes it look like there is staircase leading right up to the moon. In spring 2017 you can see the Staircase to the Moon September 7,8, and 9th and October 6, 7, and 8th. The first two nights of the full moon event are usually accompanied by the famous markets right on the beach where you can shop for all types of things from produce and food to gifts and souvenirs.
