The Monte Cristo Homestead is said to be Australia’s most haunted house. Since this is a feature on quirky places to stay, what could be odder than spending the night at the Monte Cristo Homestead Bed and Breakfast? The Victorian style manor was built in 1885. There are reportedly a number of different paranormal events that happen at the homestead on a regular basis and it has been the focus of several paranormal themed television shows. There have been quite a few horrific events and deaths at the home which might be the basis for the haunting. The homestead is located in the small town of Junee, which is inland from the coast in central New South Wales near Wagga Wagga and west of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory.
